It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Especially since we celebrated it Friday night!

Because we are on the road for the holidays, we decided to celebrate our little private Christmas early. We haven't been incredibly festive this year and didn't even have a tree up so in lieu of a real tree, my friend Sharon and I took a large sheet of drawing paper and drew a tree. We even drew tinsel, ornaments and lots of lights. Actually too many lights.....we contemplated drawing some smoke billowing from it.

So Thursday night we hung up our tree, wrapped some presents and watched the ONE HOUR CHRISTMAS EPISODE OF THE OFFICE!! I laughed so hard, tears were rolling down my face.

Friday was fun because I felt like a three year old wanting to get to the presents under the tree. We had a nice dinner at Lang Vans with our favorite hostess (we lack the ability to order when we're there - she just brings us what we like - it's great). We want to get her a Christmas gift but we're not sure what to get our favorite Vietnamese hostess. Suggestions?

We thought about hitting the gallery crawl but we were both in full-on-three-year-old mode and wanted to get home to presents. I got Justin a sake set, Pear sake and a summit wrist computer (translation: a really cool outdoorsmen watch with a barometer, altimeter, compass and other gadgety stuff). Of course once he got his hands on a new gadget, I lost him for a good hour while he played but that was okay because I had gifts of my own to play with!!

I got Season One of Frasier, the Gone with the Wind Deluxe DVD edition, Margaret Atwoods new book "Moral Disorder and other short stories," an awesome North Face jacket!!, a blue-tooth wireless headset (which is a cool gadget, so cool in fact that they're on Justin's desk right now - I have a feeling we're sharing them) and the sweetest gift ever - an Oscar dawg montage, four photos our pug in a great frame.

So now we're just taking it easy. I'm incredibly excited to get home for the holidays - every six months or so, I get the Missouri itch and I'm ready to spend some time with my friends and family. I'll see everyone soon!!
