Merry Christmas to All!
That's right, "All", with a capital "A".
So we had our first Christmas as a married couple and it went rather well... There was some home-sickness that was expected, of course, and my lack of enthusiasm in the early morning. In my scoring, "good gifts" do not trump "early morning". It's just how I'm wired, I cannot help it. So on that note we have resolved to do our gift exchange on Christmas Eve from now on. Stace gets her gifts early and I don't have to get up - EVERYONE WINS!
We ("we" as in "mostly Stace") fixed a nice meal of rib roast, cranberry sauce, broccoli casserole, and crescent rolls. Our good pal Cabo Steve came over and joined us, which provided Stace a bit of respite to her homesickness as Steve was comfortably smart alecky in ways that as a husband, I'm simply not able to be and stay married.
After dinner Stace and I visited a local haunt hoping to catch a few folk and then crashed a party as we knew some people would be there. We were up too late, but it was all good and festive.
My nephew Hayden received a battery powered race-car for Christmas, to which he replied "WAY TO GO SANTA!!" Very nice. Anyone else miss those days?
Missourites: We miss everyone terribly and are looking forward to seeing you as soon as we can.
Tennesseans: We will be there on Friday so keep the lasagna warm.
Be safe and warm and pass the love.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you All.
