HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
So in the spirit of being lazy and not understanding exactly why Blogger tends to place the newer dated photos at the top unlike I prefer, we'll simply go with it...
Here is a snapshot of our wonderful Thanksgiving meal - mostly prepared by Stacey! I know! You should have seen it... she had a little table with all the ingrediants and recipes laid out several days in advance... We had a cheesy wild rice casserole, a sweet potato casserole, stuffing, green beans, garlic mashed potatos, artisian rolls, and a turkey breast from Honey Baked Ham (really, why try to redesign such a wheel of yumminess?)! All very good and mostly semi-good for you!
OH! And I almost forgot about our first pumpkin pie! We had a few technical difficulties at first however it turned out (who knew it would be so runny when you mixed it all togther??) and was a good dessert. In fact...
where did I put those left overs? Hmmm...
This is Stacey and our good friend Sharon early Thanksgiving morning in South Charlotte as they geared up for the 8K "Turkey Trot". Doesn't Stace look great? This was Sharon's first official 8K (just over 5 miles, I believe) and Stace's first run of any sizable distance since her injury in May... Both were a bit nervous but they hid it well!
Okay, maybe they didn't hide it that well...
Here is Sharon's family who came out to cheer her on. No, not all of those people... The red haired woman is her mom, the lady in the green jacket is her sister and that is Sharon's nephew on the shoulders. The man keeping an eye on the precariously swinging flag stick is Sharon's father.
Here are the triumphant duo after crossing the finish line! Big smiles and runner's high abound. Great job, ladies!
In case no one told you, Stace's birthday was at the beginning of the month and our roommate made her a very large and very tasty cake! Baking is one of the roommie's strong points, obviously. And yes, the word there is "SASSTASTIC"... Soon to be entered in the Webster's Dictionary with an accompanying photo of my wife, for sure. Happy Birthday, babe!
Here are a couple of photos of the beautiful flowers my parents sent Stace. This is becoming a little tradition that they both really enjoy.
We ran across this guy doing a little sunning just down from Chimney Rock and along the walkway to the waterfalls in the two photos below.
I'm blanking an the name of these falls at the moment, but we were taking the adventurous way back from Grove Park Inn back in September and decided to stop here for the falls and to see Chminey Rock as neither of us had been there before.
And no, there are no real pictures from the top of Chimney Rock as, well, it was about what you'd think it would be... high up, could see far... enh.
These are Stace's wedding rings on a flower brought along to us with our room-service meal the first morning at the Grove Park Inn. As both of you who read this know, we stayed a couple of wonderful evenings there for our second anniversary.

"Where is my kiss? I need a kiss..."
It was a great time and the lodgings were great. None of my shots really did the place any justice but I might post a few in a little while anyway. I suggest looking up Grove Park Inn, Asheville, NC on the internet for more information if you are not familiar with the place already.
So to make Porter happy, I'll post some of shots of his new friends... Our new neighbors have three dogs that Porter gets to play with several times a week as their backyard is fenced in and they can all just run rampant. This is Nyla, a german shepard mix. She's almost Porter's size and I think he has a little crush on her.
This Buddy, a full blooded bassett - he's the sentry. Anything in the neighborhood moves and he's on it, letting
everyone know.
This is Mario, a dachsund mix who believes he is much larger than his size lets on. He's the Yard Boss.
I have to share this one because each time I see it I think Porter is trying to tell a story and cracking himself up... I can only imagine it would go something like, (big whooping laugh) "... and then.. and then that STUPID CAT... (more whooping laughter).."
Okay, let me go digging around see what else I can scrounge up to share...
I hope everyone had a great and safe holiday!
